About

The Witchford Archers archery club was founded in 2011 following the dissolution of the Wychelm Archery Club and the transfer of its assets to this new club.

The Wychelm Archery Club was started in July 2007 and was run by Jonathan Adlem (the CAA Indoor Champion 2005 and 2007), and was based at the Sedgeway Equestrian Centre, Witchford, near Ely, Cambridgeshire. It was affiliated to the GNAS, SCAS and the CAA.

The new club was started by members of the old one in April 2011 and is presently located at the Royal British Legion (RBL) in Sutton and the Sutton C Of E Primary School (CoE). Shooting times are Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening, generally they are:

Wednesdays, Aug-May, 19:00-21:00 at the RBL

Wednesdays, June-July, 19:00-21:00 at CoE

Sundays, Oct-March/April, 13:00-16:00 at the RBL

Sundays, April-Oct, 13:00-16:00 at CoE

Changes are listed on our Calendar so it's always a good idea to check there, or to email the club.

The founders of the new club strongly believe in archery as an inclusive family sport that should be accessible to everyone. To this end the club strives to keep charges to a minimum and is a registered charity. We believe financial accessibility actively encourages whole families and juniors in particular to participate.

Whilst archery can be a competitive sport we endeavour to also encourage people who shoot as a recreational activity.
